30th MSCA Anniversary and M4G

Thirty years ago, the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) were named after the remarkable Polish-French scientist who discovered radioactivity and won two Nobel Prizes.

In an interview, Prof. Dr. Hélène Langevin-Joliot, granddaughter of Marie Skłodowska-Curie, reflects on her family’s legacy and the values that shaped her career. (See the video). Since their inception, the MSCA have supported over 150,000 researchers at all stages of their careers, promoting international mobility, cross-sector collaboration, and excellence in research throughout Europe and beyond.

The Socio-economic energy-climate modelling for European green transition (M4G) project will start on 1 October 2026. Over the next four years, the M4G project will contribute to the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions by organising more than a hundred of secondments. The project will provide a major stepping stone for early carrer researchers by providing them with an invaluable international experience.

Moreover, it will also enable established researcher to expand their network and establish joint research and publication activities. Finally, the project will bridge the gap between abstract science and public governance. The models will provide government agencies and international bodies with the practical tools needed to address climate change and the energy transition.
